There is many things I wanted to say, but did not really know how to word it properly, or someone had already posted here to describe my thoughts; I will just let my mind spit out what it wants to say right now, as my final post.


To Damen:
We more or less grew up together. We were similar in age, shared the same interests, we loved programming cool stuff (you were much better than I!).
I write this post in the final 6 or so hours of the communities existence. On this day, we are essentially closing the last remaining door to where it all began for us. We are old!

Club Penguin gave the both of us our interest in programming and creating things, but you personally, starting in 2013, were the one who solidified my interest. You inspired me when I was only 13 that, one day, I could maybe have enough knowledge and creativity to make something as cool as sauron (sorry, had to use the name one more time 😂).
Over the years, you consistently impressed me with what you came up with - every single time you came out with something new, you raised the stakes, and outdid yourself.
Your trust you put in me over the years, even in the many times where I didn’t deserve that trust, and the opportunities you gave to me from that trust, is something that I will always be grateful for. I learned so much from you.
Without you, Jack, I simply would not be where I am today. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me.


To everyone who has blessed me with their friendship over the years:
I wish I could name all the names in good conscience, but I just know I’d end up thinking I’ve listed a name when I haven’t.
Ultimately, if you fall into this group, you know exactly who you are. A lot of you aren’t even here anymore, and will unfortunately never read this, but on the off chance you do see this someday, just know that I was thinking of you on this final day.
I grew up with some of you. I learned from all of you. I even met ONE of you (Hi @rouge !).
To my valued friends that I am still lucky enough to be able to talk to on a regular basis, I am so happy I can do that, and I hope it never changes, even after today.

@cryo - A decade in this community, and also a decade of knowing you. I’m very lucky I had you all these years. You are *the* OG, *the* day 1.
I am really proud of the man you became, even after all our worrying of becoming adults back in those multi hour long late night Skype chats back in the day. We did good lad. I love you.

@Malorie - I will always have love for you, and I hope we talk again some day.

To anyone I’ve hurt over the years, either by just saying the wrong things, or by being malicious, I’d like to say that I am sorry. Even if the argument was mutual, even if it was recently - I’d like to use these final hours of the community’s existence to officially put any “beef” away forever, and end without any negative feelings towards anyone else in this community. I wish all of you the best.


I’ve spent far too long on this post, but I am glad that I did it. If you actually read it all, you a nerd 🤓 (joking, thank you for giving me the respect).

So many memories, but here is some of the ones that immediately come to mind. No pictures to show for now but I will go hunting for them.

1: Logging into Rile5, seeing you link SnailsChat, being blown away, trying to decompile it & mess with WPE Pro on it and getting frustrated you had considered people like me. Then using it as inspiration to try make my own game like that, never managed to do it, but I did learn some basic 3D modelling because of it (I thought the 3D model items were awesome).

2: Meeting Chelsey, Concord, Gh0st, SecretResearcher on OldCP xat and spending late nights on there messing around with them.

3: Creating my own OldCP game (RetroPenguin) and seeing DSGHQ enjoy it whilst OldCP was temporarily offline.

4: LeoRPG beta with you, Hashir, Tennis, and others.

5: Spending all of 2015 talking to a really amazing friend TikiLiki (@Ratchel) on Kik.

6: Helping build features for Penguin3D, fixing it up, and giving people stuff to look forward to.

7: October 2015 framehacking fake OldCP murder scenes (I can't lie, I know it bothered people, but I still think it was some epic trolling).

8: I nearly forgot this, but custom JR rooms. I thought they were the coolest thing, and there was this particular room we always used to like hanging out in, but I can't remember it anymore.

9: Working on (but never finishing) the new forums software in Summer 2017 - a special thanks to PHP for never allowing me to finish that. But I did have fun making it, and getting a few friends like yourself and Tennis to alpha test it and give opinions. I learnt a lot about making something scalable from it.

10: And finally, I enjoyed all of the private 1 on 1 conversations I've had with all of you over the years. From in-game, to xat, to Skype, to Kik, to Discord. I wish I could read those old messages now, especially from those who disappeared one day.
